Service Description

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. To measure and record indoor air quality for accurate identification of source/root cause of mould in the environment. 2. To help determine whether the inspected areas have damp related issues, high humidity levels, excessive accumulation of dust, fungal infestation or mould presence in the environment. 3. To help determine if there are conditions in the building that favor any of the above. 4. To help determine if there is mould growth in the building, which is not found in the uncontrolled exterior environment. 5. To reduce or eliminate biotoxins in the home environment. 6. To offer a form of evidence to support the possibility that the current conditions may influence the occupant's health and safety in their home environment. Health effect concerns are more complicated, as they involve a chain of hypotheses: (i) Mould needs to be present. (ii) The affected person(s) needs to be exposed to the mould growth (iii) The affected person(s) needs to be sensitive to such exposure. (iv) The exposure needs to be a contributing factor for the cause of health related symptoms. The purpose of an indoor air quality inspection is to look for conditions conducive to mould growth, that are unique to the internal environment and not subject to external factors. A detailed and comprehensive inspection report is included and provided subsequent to the assessment. Mould spores may also be present in the form of respirable particulate matter that would not be seen by the naked eye but can be measured in the ambient air. Infrared thermography inspections further assist us to establish the root cause of poor indoor air quality in the environment.
